Delete your Burdn account

Burdn is the anonymous venting app operated by Ekuty LLC. You can permanently delete your Burdn account and personal data at any time — either inside the app or by asking us to do it for you. This page explains both options and what happens to your data.

1Delete your account inside the app

The fastest way to delete your account is from within Burdn on your device:

Confirm when prompted. Your account is deleted right away — you don't need to email us if you use this option.

2Request deletion without opening the app

If you can't sign in or would rather we handle it, send us a deletion request by email. You do not need to log in to this page.

Email a deletion request

This opens a message to support@ekuty.com with the subject “Burdn Account Deletion Request” already filled in. In your message, include only:

the email address used for your Burdn account
whether you signed in with Email, Apple, or Google

Never include your password, a verification code, an access token, or your Apple or Google sign-in credentials. We will never ask for these, and you don't need them to delete your account.

3How the request is handled

To protect your account, support may take a step to verify that you own it before completing the deletion. This prevents someone else from deleting your account.

Once ownership is confirmed, we delete the account and its personal data as described below, and reply to confirm it's done.

4What happens when your account is deleted

Deleting your Burdn account is permanent and cannot be undone. When it is deleted:

your authentication and profile data is removed or anonymized;
your active sessions are revoked;
your notification push tokens are removed;
your private drafts are deleted;
your private notification inbox is deleted;
your Burdn Plus access ends.

Public Burdns and replies you posted may remain under their anonymous persona, disconnected from your deleted account, to preserve conversations others took part in. A limited set of safety records may be retained where needed for abuse prevention or to meet legal obligations. Because of this, not every piece of data is erased the instant your account is deleted.

5Burdn Plus and store subscriptions

Deleting your Burdn account ends your Burdn Plus access, but it does not cancel an Apple App Store or Google Play subscription. If you subscribed to Burdn Plus through a store, you must cancel the subscription yourself in that store to stop future charges — through your Apple App Store account (Subscriptions) or your Google Play account (Subscriptions).
